Title I Revision Meetings

DMS Parents/Guardians - We need your input!  You are invited to participate in the "SY24-25 Title I Documents Revision Meeting."

Dates: 
• April 18th, 5pm-7pm
• April 19th 11am-1pm (during F.A.C.E. Time parent/student lunch)
• April 22-25, 2024, 9am-Noon

13th Annual Community Empty Bowls

Mark your calendars for our 13th annual Empty Bowls Dinner on April 25th, 5:00-7:00 PM. Empty Bowls is a simple meal of spaghetti, salad, bread, and dessert. Empty Bowls is a chance for our students to truly make a difference in the world through their art! At the dinner, you will be invited to take home a ceramic bowl as a reminder of those who have “empty bowls” in our community. All proceeds will go to the Rockdale Emergency Relief to help fight hunger in our community.  The Art Club will be hosting a canned food drive at the event so bring your nonperishable food items to donate. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased on the GRDMS school website, on the right-hand side you will see a link to pay fees, look for Empty Bowls under fees.  If you have questions about the event, please contact Mrs. Katy King, [email protected]


IMPORTANT: Georgia Milestones Testing

Beginning on April 29, 2024, students in Grades 5-8 will join other elementary and middle school students district wide in taking the Georgia Milestones End-of-Grade AssessmentAlthough student performance is measured year-round by teachers, this test is a standardized measure for students to demonstrate their mastery of core academic subjects through established criteria set by the Georgia Department of Education.

Information provided by these assessments include:

  • establishing individual student achievement levels.
  • assessing strengths and weaknesses of individuals and programs.
  • determining student academic growth.
  • guiding us as we plan for overall school improvement.
 As a parent, it is important that you understand what these tests are and how you can support your child to ensure they perform to the best of their ability.

Notice to Students and Parents
 To ensure test security, RCPS and General Ray Davis Middle School will enact specific classroom practices and procedures during critical testing days. These procedures include turning off personal electronic devices and placing them in a designated place away from the testing area.

IMPORTANT – Parents, please make sure to complete your 2024-25 Annual Update now in Infinite Campus Parent Portal so there is no delay for your student in accessing their laptop/iPad for 2024-25 school year. Log in to Infinite Campus Parent Portal, then in the left column click "More" and "Annual Student Updates."

To access annual updates:

  1. Log into Infinite Campus Parent Portal. *If you need to create a Parent Portal account refer to directions on the website or inquire at your child's school.
  2. Click three lines in the top left-hand corner for Menu.
  3. Click on 'more'
  4. Annual Updates and Registration
  5. Click on 24-25 School Year (Next Year)
