Principal's Message

Greetings Barksdale Families,

It is with great enthusiasm that I introduce myself to you as the newly appointed principal of Barksdale Elementary School. I am honored to have the opportunity to serve in this role at such a prosperous school. I am committed to continuing such an environment so that all BES students continue to thrive.

Over the last 15 years, I have served as an educator for Rockdale County Public Schools. My educational career has included being a classroom teacher, early interventionist, student support coordinator, and most recently an assistant principal. I attended Valdosta State University where I earned my bachelor’s in early childhood education. From there, I went on to earn a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Nova Southeastern University and then headed back to Valdosta State University for a specialist’s degree in Educational Leadership.

As an educational leader, I truly believe that every student deserves the very best education and can learn at the highest level if given the opportunity. It is my goal to ensure that students of Barksdale Elementary are afforded this opportunity and receive a quality education in a safe and nurturing environment. I am delighted to partner with each of you, our community, and the faculty and staff to ensure this goal is met for every student. It’s going to be a great year!
